MVP project defeated autocracy 2-0 in the grand final to win the first season of VSL. The first season which had a $6,270 prize pool was played offline in Seoul, Korea from July 3 to August 25. Ten teams started the competition in two groups and the top two from each group advanced to the playoffs where a double-elimination format came into effect. All the matches took place at the VSL Studio in Seoul as MVP Project, autocracy, TamuluS, and T5 advanced to the playoffs by finishing their groups in the first two places. MVP Project advanced through the lower bracket to reach the grand final where they beat autocracy 16-10 on Train and 16-9 on Mirage. Soon-Woo "Argency" Kwon and Hyung-Ju "Sound" Nam led their team to the domestic victory as they posted 1.27 and 1.19 ratings, respectively, against autocracy who they lost to in their first playoff match.
